Albany Pottery Group is really excited about the exhibition and sale of works being readied for this year’s Southern Art & Craft Trail. The club’s three kilns are being pushed to their firing limits to ensure works are ready in time.
This year, the exhibition will showcase more works that have been produced on the pottery wheels, or founded on a wheel worked base, thanks to a revived interest in this difficult area of production.
There’ll also be many exciting hand built creations that have become a hallmark of the group in recent times. A wealth of new members has brought youth and cultural diversity to the group and resulted in themes and processes that have challenged some of the older potters to try new ideas.
A truly stimulating and productive atmosphere of camaraderie, support and fun has prevailed in the pottery annex behind the Vancouver Art Centre during the past 12 months.
We’re hoping many visitors will visit during the Art & Craft Trail.
