One of Australia’s most celebrated artists will headline Albany Town Hall this August, with Baker Boy set to bring his explosive live show to Albany for the first time.
Presented as part of the Live @ the Town Hall series, the event will feature Baker Boy alongside main support act Miss Kaninna, with additional support artists to be announced soon.
Proud Yolŋu man, 2019 Young Australian of the Year and multi-award-winning artist Baker Boy has become one of the most influential and exciting performers in Australian music.
Baker Boy has earned national and international acclaim, including five ARIA Awards for debut album Gela which made history as the first album by an Indigenous artist to win ARIA Album of the Year.
Known for blending hip hop, dance, culture and language, his sophomore album, DJANDJAY, released last October, was also met with widespread critical acclaim.
Baker Boy’s Albany debut marks a major milestone for the Live @ the Town Hall series, bringing one of the country’s most sought-after artists to the Great Southern as part of the expanded program.
Support act Miss Kaninna, is also a First Nations artist whose music, voice and presence have made her one of the most compelling figures in Australian music today.
Hailing from Tasmania and of Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali heritage, Miss Kaninna made history with her debut single Blak Britney, earning three ARIA nominations and becoming the first independent Aboriginal woman nominated for an ARIA Award for a debut single.
City of Albany Manager Arts and Culture Paul Nielsen said securing Baker Boy and Miss Kaninna for Albany highlighted the growing profile and success of the Live @ the Town Hall series.
“Live @ the Town Hall continues to deliver outstanding live music experiences for our community while attracting nationally acclaimed artists to Albany,” he said.
“Baker Boy and Miss Kaninna are two of the most exciting performers in Australia today, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the Albany Town Hall stage.
Made possible through Revive Live, an Australian Government initiative supporting original live music across the country, the expanded 2026 program is bringing major touring artists to Albany while continuing to create opportunities for Great Southern and emerging musicians.
Live @ the Town Hall featuring Baker Boy and Miss Kaninna will take place at Albany Town Hall on Saturday, 22 August 2026.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, 19 June via cityofalbanyevents.com/liveatthetownhall.
