Explore the art of paper textiles in this immersive two-day workshop with Anzara Clark, hosted by the Vancouver Arts Centre. Suitable for both beginners and experienced students, you’ll learn:
Day 1:
- Joomchi: Texturing and felting paper
- Momigami: Strengthening and texturing paper
- Basic paper cordage plying
- Kami-ito: Making traditional Japanese paper thread
Day 2:
- Creating a paper cloth accessory (bag, hat, wallet) or a vest
- Using eastern and western papers for textile projects
- Stitching techniques for reinforcing, seaming, and embellishing paper cloth

Paper cloth created on Day 1 will be used on Day 2. A materials kit valued at over $40 is included in the ticket price. Basic sewing skills are an advantage.
