Please join us for Public Art, workshop 9 of The Business Side of Arts workshops at the Vancouver Arts Centre on Thursday 1 February from 5.30pm - 7.30pm. Registrations essential.

An introduction to public art commissions, including:
- What is public art and why should you get involved?
- How to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for the best chance of success
- What will you need to do if you are successful with your EOI?
- Common pitfalls and things to understand
- Legalities
Workshop presented by City of Albany Visual Arts Officer, Indra Geidans, along with local specialist arts facilitator (TBC).
In her role as Visual Arts Officer for City of Albany, Indra manages the Town Hall Gallery and Vancouver Arts Centre exhibition program development and delivery (including exhibition curation), Town Hall Gallery coordination, Artwork in the Public Domain approvals and processes, and Town Hall Gallery education and public programs.
Indra Geidans graduated from Curtin University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Education (Secondary Art) and in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art - Printmaking). She has held 14 solo exhibitions and exhibited both nationally and internationally in Germany, Switzerland and Latvia. Indra has been a practicing visual artist for 30 years and her work can be found in many local and Government collections including the Art Gallery of WA, Edith Cowan University, University of Western Australia and the Federal Law Courts of Australia.
The Business Side of Arts is a series of professional development workshops designed to equip local artists and creatives with the business, marketing and practical skills required to support their success as an arts practitioner. Workshops will be delivered by Albany Business Centre, local specialist arts practitioners and City of Albany Arts & Culture team staff.
