ROOTS, FIBRE AND BELONGING
3 - 4 April | Vancouver Arts Centre
An installation by Joanne Hayward and Kate Campbell-Pope
The power of roots is that they find a way – Merrily Baird
Roots, traversing the subterranean world, offer stability and sustenance to plants. Being embedded in our language, roots speak of a sense of being securely grounded, as well as the foundations of our individual lives. Roots provide us with food, medicine, and even bridges!
How might we look at these important fibrous entities through different eyes? How would plants speak of their own roots, and what wisdom might they impart on us?
Join the artists for a ‘drop in’ space (Large Meeting Room VAC), on Monday 3rd, or Tuesday 4th April 10 am - 3pm, to learn more about the wonderful world of roots, and contribute to the installation!
