Pastel Portraits Workshop

Saturday 12th October 2024

Pastel Portraits Workshop
12 - 13 October 2024 | Vancouver Arts Centre
We are thrilled to announce a two-day pastel workshop, Pastel Portraits – People and Animals, presented by the Pastel Society of Australia at the Vancouver Arts Centre. This unique opportunity is led by award-winning artist and Master Pastellist, Maxine Thompson, known for her incredible talent in capturing the essence and character of both people and animals.

Maxine’s workshop will cater for all skills levels from beginners through to accomplished artists who want to experiment with the soft pastels medium. Maxine will help you achieve the likeness of your subject. More than that, through small exercises, Maxine will demonstrate and guide you while providing her special tips and tricks to create facial features that capture emotion and character, whether in people or animals. Aim to bring your own close-up reference photos (although photos will be provided also) and be amazed at how Maxine can equip you to create meaningful and expressive artwork at the end of this two-day workshop.

Dates: Saturday and Sunday October 12 & 13
Times: 8:30am for a 9:00am start until 4:00pm
Location: Vancouver Arts Centre, 85 Vancouver St, Albany W.A. 6330
Cost: $200 for PSA and non-PSA members for both days

Maxine’s workshops are a fantastic way to hone your skills, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist. Don’t miss this chance to learn from one of the best!
We can’t wait to see the beautiful artworks you’ll create!
