LGBTQIA+ Storytelling Workshops with James McMillan

A series of LGBTQIA+ storytelling workshops as part of James McMillan's City of Albany Artist Residency and development of the locative sound project 'Out Here, in Albany'. The workshops will focus on bringing community members together to share, develop and refine a story about a particular place.
Participants are guided through a series of activities and discussions aimed at developing their voice and storytelling abilities. Using different modes of artistic expression such as drawing, writing, mapping and sound design, participants will focus on individual story that connects to an particular place in Albany of personal or community significance. Stories can range from the everyday to the extraordinary and aren't necessarily contingent on one's sexuality or gender identity.
This workshop is over three sessions.
Wednesday evenings 4th, 11th and 18th Dec, 6-8pm.
Location: Vancouver Arts Centre
Tickets: FREE* spaces are limited, all participants must register for this workshop.
