ARTIST STATEMENT My inspiration is the Spanish Dancer sea slug found in the tropical waters of the Indian and Pacific oceans, including Ningaloo Reef. Spanish Dancers are large, growing up to 60cms, and are part of the Nudibranch family. Spanish Dancers are mesmerizing as they gently and gracefully move through the ocean reef. In my work the Spanish Dancer is having a night out in the sea garden and funking it up at the local coral reef night club. This is brought to life by model Wendy’s slinky and cheeky burlesque and flamenco cha cha moves .

MATERIALS/TECHNIQUES Hand wet felted with Treetop Harmonies silks and fine merino wool tops in various colorways
