ARTIST STATEMENT Look deeper, there is more than meets the eye. A person’s true character is not always easily seen. Look past the stereotype - some of the strongest and most intimidating people are the gentlest and softest characters inside. Fabrics – strength of character Ruffles – making waves and holding boundaries Window panes above hem – look inside, take the time, don’t assume Punk rocker – strength Rainbow colours – sense of fun Corset - holding it together

MATERIALS/TECHNIQUES Chicken wire, insect mesh/fly wire, sinamay (hat-making fabric); sewed by machine and by hand.
